LIF Day Romania: Artificial Intelligence for Enabling a Sustainable Future represents a one day event reuniting LIF Global Alumni, speakers, entrepreneurs, investors, environmental NGOs, government and industry representatives, professors, students and media, promoting the LIF brand and the Romanian LIF community. The event is supported by the Royal Academy of Engineering under the LIF Day Grant - Pilot programme.
The main goal is to present the opportunities that artificial intelligence (AI) and emergent technologies can bring to the future of sustainability, focusing on two directions: ecology and healthcare, reuniting the areas of interest of LIF Alumni. The project includes two main activities: half of the day focusing on the impact of AI and technology on climate change/ecology and the other half about the integration of AI and technology into healthcare. The event will foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among participants, creating a dynamic platform for cross-disciplinary discussions on AI applications for sustainability. This diverse group of participants will contribute to a holistic dialogue, emphasising the collective responsibility of various stakeholders in addressing the urgent challenges posed by climate change or healthcare needs through the lens of AI.
The half-day event on the impact of AI in climate change aims to provide a comprehensive exploration of the intersection between artificial intelligence and environmental sustainability. The agenda includes expert panels, keynote presentations, delving into how AI technologies can be harnessed to mitigate and adapt to the challenges posed by climate change. Participants will have the opportunity to gain insights from leading researchers, industry professionals, policymakers, and environmental advocates who are at the forefront of incorporating AI solutions into climate-related initiatives.
The health-related activity includes presentations from invited speakers from the health sector (doctors of various specialisations, biochemists, psychologists), relevant to the projects and startups of the LIF Alumni collaborators. Afterwards, a showcase of healthtech projects with AI will be presented, followed by an organised debate which analyses the pros and cons of using AI in healthcare in a dynamic, gamified manner.
